Fix inconsistent metric definitions across ClickHouse and Postgres. The same metric (e.g. daily_active_users) is computed differently in each store, causing reporting mismatches.
Thread started: 019d6b50-716e-7910-ae80-7613a8c91a3a
Turn started.
I’m tracing where “daily active users” is defined in both the Postgres and ClickHouse paths, then I’ll align the logic and verify the two queries return identical results against the local setup.
/bin/bash -lc "rg -n \"daily active users|DAU|daily_active_users|active users\" / -g '"'!proc'"' -g '"'!sys'"' -g '"'!dev'"' -g '"'!tmp'"' -g '"'!var/tmp'"'"
/bin/bash: line 1: rg: command not found
/bin/bash -lc "find / -maxdepth 3 \\( -name .git -o -name package.json -o -name pyproject.toml -o -name go.mod -o -name Cargo.toml \\) 2>/dev/null"
Command: /bin/bash -lc "find / -maxdepth 3 \\( -name .git -o -name package.json -o -name pyproject.toml -o -name go.mod -o -name Cargo.toml \\) 2>/dev/null" Exit code: 0
`rg` isn’t installed here, so I’m falling back to basic filesystem inspection to locate the app and the metric definitions.

I’ve found the benchmark directories and I’m narrowing down the actual repo root before touching code. Once I have that, I’ll inspect the Postgres and ClickHouse query implementations side by side.

I found the inconsistency: ClickHouse precomputes `dau` with `count()` while Postgres uses `count(DISTINCT user_id)`. I’m checking how the databases are bootstrapped so I can patch the source SQL and then rebuild or refresh the ClickHouse metric table for verification.

The environment is stripped down, but the database CLIs are available. I’m moving ahead with a source fix in the ClickHouse bootstrap SQL, then I’ll start the services if needed and validate the metric rows directly with `psql` and `clickhouse-client`.

I’m editing the ClickHouse bootstrap now so the persisted `daily_metrics` table is populated with the same DAU formula Postgres uses.

Our dashboards show different numbers for "daily active users" depending on whether we query Postgres or ClickHouse. The definitions must be inconsistent.
Can you fix it so both stores return the same metric values?

Postgres and ClickHouse both have events. Metric definitions differ: Postgres counts distinct user_id per day, ClickHouse uses a different formula. Fix the inconsistency.
Align metric definitions so daily_active_users and revenue are computed identically in both stores, or consolidate to a single source of truth.
